About
During a time of necessary separation, students and community members are invited to participate in the creation of a collaborative educational art piece, highlighting the impact of plastic pollution on our waterways and wildlife.
Using plastic waste accumulated during lockdown, participants are invited to conduct a Waste Brand Audit, to collect valuable data around which companies are producing the most plastic and plastic packaged products. Then, using this waste as a resource, participants are guided and inspired to transform the plastic waste into beautiful fish, check out the work from some students in the virtual gallery below.

We will bring the project together in a moment of reunion, as a physical exhibition at the Gee Lee-Wik Doleen Gallery in Craigieburn, currently set to be held in mid-December.
This project is now open for all community members to participate, we encourage you to make your own fish and learn about the plastic problem!

We must listen to our younger community members.....
....and our older community members.
Did you know?
Each year at least 8 million tonnes of plastics end up in the water- which is the same as dumping one garbage truck into the ocean every minute?
Only 9% of the plastic ever created has been recycled.
Nearly 1,300 organizations from across the world have joined the movement #breakfreefromplastic to demand massive reductions in single-use plastics and to push for lasting solutions to the plastic pollution crisis.
